Eat & Grow at Battle Hill Library

Eat & Grow at Battle Hill Library

Last week we visited Battle Hill Library to take pictures of a community seed sowing event hosted by VODA.

VODA is a charity that funds community projects across North Tyneside, including Eat & Grow, which aims to ‘empower communities across the region to effectively utilise available spaces, both public and private, for food growing and enhanced physical and mental health’. We used a zoom lens to be as unobtrusive as possible - to be a ‘fly on the wall’ as community members and children learnt the basics of planting and growing herbs at home. Other projects funded by VODA include schemes to support isolated parents, help elderly residents get online, and offer a helping hand to vulnerable residents. Fly Films UK will be documenting some more of these wonderful projects in the coming month.
