Groundwork North East Tyne Time-lapse Installation
Groundwork North East Tyne Time-lapse Installation
19/06/24, 11:30
We were commissioned by Groundwork North East Cumbria to install time lapse cameras by the Tyne river, on the edge of Northumbria National Park
The cameras will monitor the effectiveness of ‘leaky dams’ in flood prevention. Mounted on wooden stands, they’ll take photos every half hour over the next month to monitor rainfall and water levels, and thus how effective these dams are in preventing flooding further downstream. Our findings will instruct Groundwork where else these cameras should be installed, as well as informing flood defence strategies in close-by urban areas.
